Using Crystals to Help with Your Recovery

-  Whether you are recovering from an emotional or physical illness, surgery or are in recovery for addiction, crystals can help you to heal on every level.

-  To help you with your recovery, try starting and ending each day with a self-massage or
meditation with the crystals of your choice.  There are a few crystal suggestions here for you to choose from.

-  Carry the crystals you feel you need for the day in a pocket and use as touchstones
throughout the day.



Crystals to Benefit Recovery

Amethyst - protection, purification, withdrawal, shock, trauma, release of addictions and negative energy

Petrified Wood - stability, strength, patience, grounding, aids recovery, inner peace

Crystal Meditation


1. Open your mind, still your body and free your spirit to be more receptive

    to the healing energy of crystals.

2. Surround yourself with as much quiet as possible.

3. Make yourself comfortable.

4.  Hold your crystal with both hands.

5. Close your eyes.

6. Feel the energy of the crystal in your hands.

7.  Imagine this crystal energy flowing up your arms and into your shoulders

     and chest.

8.  Allow it to fill your chest and heart.

9.  Let it flow up into your head.

10. When the crystal energy reaches the center of your mind it starts to see

      your thoughts.

11.  One by one, each thought floats towards the crystal energy and disappears

      into it.

12.  This happens again and again until all your thoughts have floated away.

13.  Now the crystal energy drifts slowly down your body.

14.  It flows back past your chest and surrounds your heart, gently bathing your

        heart in clear, calm crystal energy.

15.  From your heart, this energy flows into your belly and pelvis, down your 

       legs and into your feet and through your toes, until your whole body is

       filled with clear, calm crystal energy.

16.  Allow yourself to bathe in this crystal energy for several minutes.

17.  Just relax and enjoy it.

18.  Let it wash away any worries, discomfort or pain you may be feeling.

19.  When you feel you are ready, slowly become aware of your body.

20.  Notice how it feels.

21.  Slowly open your eyes and enjoy your space as you look around you.



Crystal Self Massage Technique
  • Maintain an attitude of nurturing and love toward yourself and your body.
  • Keep your attention on the part of your body you are working on.
  • Use both hands and adapt to the contours of your body.
  • Work in circular movements and long strokes working from the extremities towards the heart.
  • Try a twice-daily routine to start.

Basic Crystal Massage Techniques Recommended to Perform the Massage

  • Use hands to apply oil to body area.
  • Hold a crystal palm stone in 1 or both hands and glide or slide over body area.

Massage Sequence
  1. Glide crystal all over palm area.
  2. Glide crystal in circular motions against palm and fingers.
  3. Glide crystal over back of hand, working in direction of bones.
  4. Glide crystal up arm, over shoulder and down back of arm.
  5. Starting at wrist, make small circular movements with crystal, working slowly up to shoulder, over and down the back of the arm.
  6. Cross foot over opposite leg and roll crystal into sole of foot, pressing in at base of toes.
  7. Work over tops of feet, moving in the direction of the toe bones.
  8. Work crystal in small circles around ankle bones, pressing into hollows.
  9. Use circular motions, working up leg from ankle. At knee, work crystal into hollows around knee cap with small circular strokes.
  10. Use long, sweeping moves to move energy from ankle to hip.
  11. Lie down flat on back. Work crystal into crease where leg joins body, working up and down and back and forth over area.
  12. Stay lying down, bend knees. Working crystal in small circles, move in a square shape with the direction of the colon; from right pelvic bone up to right hip, across to left hip, down to left pelvic bone and across to right pelvic bone.
  13. Sitting up or lying down, work crystal in circular motions on chest area, working around breasts. Use long, alternating horizontal strokes, first with one hand and then the other, from each side to the middle of your body. Pass crystal from one hand to the other.
  14. Work along collar bones and around shoulders, pressing crystal into trapezius from base of neck to top of shoulder.
  15. Use rounded-end to work into hollows at top of shoulder.
  16. Use crystal to work up and down back of neck, gently on the throat. Apply oil to base of skull at back of head and move crystal in circular motion.
  17. Roll crystal over the parts of the back that you can reach.
  18. Use smaller crystal to rotate on temples.
  19. Rotate crystal all over face. Use smaller crystal to push into hollows of jaw. Press up under cheek bones.
  20. Release energy from bladder channel. Resting elbows on knees or a table, use thumb pads to press into inner edge of eyebrow beside bridge of nose and rest weight of head on thumbs.
  21. Roll small crystal in and around ear area, dragging crystal into contours of ear and rolling on spinal ridge at back of ear.
  22. Pull ears away from head and move hands in circular motion.
